Four people, including three siblings, died when a Khulna-bound mail train crushed them in Kundopukur union of Nilphamari Sadar upazila early on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Ima Akter, 12, her sister Lima Akter, 8, brother Moninur Rahman, 6, and Shamim, 35.
Nilphamari Superintendent of Police Mokhlesur Rahman assured that two gatekeepers would be recruited there.
He urged the district administration to provide necessary aid to the bereaved families.
In another incident at Pirganj upazila of Thakurgaon district, a man named Riajul Islam was killed as a train hit a three-wheeler on Wednesday.
Pirganj railway station master Sohrab Hossain said that Riajul died when Akota Express hit the vehicle near Senua bazaar.
Earlier on Tuesday, a man died and four others sustained injuries after a train crashed into a three-wheeler at Shyamganj level crossing in Mymensingh's Gouripur upazila.
