The Bangladesh Cricket Board is planning to hold a four-day Bangladesh Cricket League match at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogura subject to the ground clearance, an official informed on Tuesday.

“We’re trying to hold a third round BCL match in Bogura. If the venue is prepared enough to host the match, we will arrange the match there,” the BCB official told The Daily Sun requesting anonymity.

The four-team BCL will get underway on December 12 with BCB South Zone taking on Islami Bank East Zone in Rajshahi in the opening match while Walton Central Zone will face BCB North Zone in the other first round match in Chattogram.

According to the itinerary, East Zone will take on North Zone In the third and last round match scheduled on December 26-29 but the venue of the match is yet to be confirmed as it can either be hosted in Rajshahi or Bogura.

The Shaheed Chandu Stadium, which hosted one Test and five ODIs until 2006, previously hosted a domestic match back in 2019 when a National Cricket League match between Rangpur Division and Dhaka Division was held at the venue. The stadium hasn’t hosted a BCL match since December 2018.

The final of the ninth edition of the tournament will be held at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on January 2-6.
