Successful kidney transplant in CMH

The authorities of Dhaka CMH said it has successfully transplanted a kidney into an army man on Monday.

Md Abdur Rashid donated the kidney to his cousin, Lance Corporal Zahirul Haque on the day.

A medical team of CMH headed by Professor Kamrul Hasan, a renowned specialist of the Centre for Kidney and Urology Dhaka, performed the surgery.

The director general, directorate general of Military Medical Services, consultant surgeon general, consultant physician general, commandant CMH Dhaka, chief physician general and chief surgeon general gave support in the surgery.

It may be mentioned that the first kidney transplantation in the country was performed at Dhaka CMH in 1982.
