Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed on Monday inaugurated ‘Ananta Samare’ sculpture at Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka Cantonment.

The sculpture has been established to commemorate the sacrifices made by members of the Bangladesh Army Medical Corps during the glorious Liberation War in 1971 and the self-sacrificing members of the medical service during the Corona epidemic.

The army chief also inaugurated instalments, including anaesthesia outpatient, eye operation theatre, laser vision centre and sleep lab, at the CMH on the day.

The new anaesthesia outpatient unit has separate observation rooms for men and women and a number of waiting rooms that are essential for patients undergoing pre-surgical anaesthesia check-ups.

Besides, the sleep lab is a newly added project of CMH Dhaka which will play a vital role in diagnosing important diseases like sleep disorders and providing its advanced medical services.
