BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday demanded the resignation of State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Md Murad Hassan for making ‘indecent’ remarks on family members of Ziaur Rahman.
“Such offensive remarks made by a person who is holding national flag shocked the entire nation. He seems to suffer from psychiatric disorders,” Fakhrul said in a written statement.
He said Khaleda Zia is now in a critical condition without getting scope for treatment abroad. In this situation, obscene propaganda about members of her family, including her grandchild, has already attracted strong criticism from people from all walks of life, including women leaders.
Terming Murad Hassan's remarks politically malicious, anti-women and racist, Mirza Fakhrul demanded a public apology from Dr Murad and his resignation after withdrawing the remarks.
“Otherwise, befitting reply will be given to this remarks in the future,” he warned.
