The Covid-19 situation has now been ‘stable’ in the country as the daily cases of the disease have remained below 300 for 35 consecutive days. 

According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), three corona patients died and 243 infections were recorded in 24 hours until Friday morning.

The daily infection rate has remained below 2 percent for the last several weeks. Some 1.40 percent infection rate was reported on Friday, 1.24 percent on Thursday and 1.50 percent on Wednesday. 

The country has recorded the daily positivity rate below 3 percent for 60 consecutive days while the infection rate has been below 4 percent for 69 days in a row and below 5 percent for the last 76 consecutive days. 

The daily corona cases have remained below 500 for the last 51 days in a row, below 400 for 45 consecutive days and below 300 for 35 days in a row. The number of total infections has risen to 15,77,070 with 14.41 percent overall positivity rate. Some 17,387 samples were tested in 24 hours until Friday morning. 

The total death toll has increased to 27,989 with a case fatality rate of 1.77 percent. The number of deaths has remained below 10 for the last 47 consecutive days.  At the same time, the recovery  rate continued to improve, reaching 97.77 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day. 

Some 225 corona patients have recovered in 24 hours till Friday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,41,886. The country's maiden cases were reported on March 8 last year and the first death from the virus was recorded on March 18 in the same year.
