One death, 273 cases recorded in last 24 hrs

One more person died from Covid-19 in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

At least 273 more infections were recorded in the country during the period, taking the number of people infected to 15,76,284.

With this, the number of deaths has now stood at 27,981 and the death rate reached at 1.78 percent. However, the number of death remained below 10 for the last 44 consecutive days. The current positivity rate is 1.38 percent while it was 1.34 percent on Sunday.

The daily positivity rate has remained below 2 percent for the last several weeks.

For the 57th consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below 3 percent while the infection rate was below 4 percent for 64 days in a row and below 5 percent for the last 73 consecutive days.

The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 48 days in a row, below 400 for 42 consecutive days and below 300 for 32 days in a row.

Some 19,802 samples were tested across the country in the meantime.  At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.76 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.

Some 368 more Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,40,965.
