Jnr Tigers beat India U-19 A

Bangladesh U-19 team began their triangular series campaign in India on a winning note when they defeated India U-19 A team by two wickets at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Monday.

Bangladesh U-19 opener Mahfijul Islam struck 91 runs while S M Meherob Hasan and Prantik Nawrose scored 38 not out and 35 runs respectively as they reached 249-8 in 48.2 overs to complete their victory and moved to the top in the three-team points table.

Earlier, pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib claimed 3-50 while skipper Rakibul Hasan, Musfik Hasan and Ashiqur Zaman took two wickets each as the junior Tigers bowled out India U-19 A team for 245 runs in 48.1 overs after sending them to bat first.

Harnoor Singh of India U-19 A team made the highest 111 runs for the host team. Bangladesh U-19 team will face India U-19 B team in their second match at the same venue on Wednesday.
