DSCC starts demolishing bldg on Manda road

A mobile court of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) on Monday started the demolition of a five-storey building constructed on a road in Manda area.

DSCC officials said one Hridoy Mia owns the 3,200-square-feet building.

DSCC Executive Magistrate Mohammad Muniruzzaman said, “The five-storey building was built on the government-owned road. Actually, there was a canal in the place and it was filled up by a government entity for constructing the road. Later, the building was constructed, grabbing 6,000 square feet of the road.”

He said they will demolish the building and open the space for pedestrians.
