Three get death for killing child in Madaripur

MADARIPUR: A court here on Monday sentenced three people to death and acquitted one in a case filed over the murder of child Aduri of Sendia village in Rajori upazila of the district in 2015.

The convicted were identified as Rajib Hawlader, 24, son of Rafiq Hawlader of Paschim Swarmangal village, Rimon Hossain, 26, son of Muhit Gachi of Kodalia Bajitpur village and Shafiqul Islam Molla, 25, son of Rafiqul Islam Molla, resident of Bhairampur in Pirojpur district. Court also fined the convicts Tk 50,000 each.

Madaripur District and Sessions Judge Nitai Chandra Saha passed the order this morning.

Meanwhile, Rimon Hossain was present in the court during the verdict. The rest of the accused are absconding on bail.

The person who got acquittal in the case is Selim Hawlader, 35.

According to the case statement, Aduri, 5, daughter of Tuku Sarder, went missing after she went to Sendia Jame Mosque for studying Arabic on September 20 in 2015.

On September 22, Aduri’s father filed a murder case against six named people and four unnamed people with Rajoir Police Station.

Madaripur Public Prosecutor (PP) Md Siddiqur Rahman Sing confirmed the matter.

The Imam of the mosque Shafiqul Islam confessed to the killing after he was arrested by police.
