Three more died from coronavirus infection and 239 contracted the pathogen in the country during the last 24 hours till Friday.

The number of deaths declined slightly while the number of infection cases almost remained unchanged during the time.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) disclosed the information on the latest fatalities and infection cases on the day.

Earlier, 9 Covid-19 deaths and 237 infection cases were reported on Thursday, 3 deaths and 312 infection cases on Wednesday, 3 deaths and 284 cases on Tuesday, 2 deaths and 264 cases on Monday, 7deaths and 199 cases on Sunday and zero deaths and 178 cases were reported on Saturday.

The daily corona infection rate has remained below 2 percent for the last several weeks. Some 1.41 percent infection rate was reported on Friday, 1.25 percent on Thursday, 1.49 percent on Wednesday, 1.45 percent on Tuesday, 1.42 percent on Monday, 1.16 percent on Sunday, 1.18 percent on Saturday and 1.40 percent on Friday.

For the 53 consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below 3 percent. The infection rate was below 4 percent for 60 days in a row and below 5 percent for the last 69 consecutive days.

The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 44 days in a row.

The number of total infections has risen to 15,75,424 with the overall positivity rate 14.56 percent. Some 16,916 samples were tested in the last 24 hours to detect the infection cases.

At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.74 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.

Some 277 more Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours till Friday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,39,830.
