Aruna Biswas is a popular film actress of the country. She has been working in the film industry for over three decades as an actress.
Now, the noted actress is all set to debut as a director on the big screen. The shooting of her directorial debut film ‘Oshombhob’ begins at Jabra village in Manikganj district today.
The shooting of the film will continue for 10 days in a row at the same location.
About her debut directorial venture, Aruna said, “I’m dedicating my first directorial film to my mentor Nayak Raj Razzak. He (Razzak uncle) introduced me to the Dhallywood film industry. Today he is no more with us. But I took blessings from his family before starting my film. I went to Nayak Raj’s house ‘Lakshmikunja’ and met his wife Khairunnesa and other family members.”
“I have also talked to our respected actors Alamgir bhai and Suborna Mustafa apa over phone. They have also given their blessings to me. Cinematographer Mahfuzur Rahman bhai is also not with us. On this special occasion, I also recall him. If Mahfuzur bhai is alive today he must do the cinematography for my first movie,” she added.
Aruna Biswas started her film career with the movie ‘Chapa Dangar Bou’ directed by Razzak in 1986. She has acted in over 100 films in her career. Her notable films are --‘Durnam’, ‘Sonman’, ‘Koifoyot’, ‘Dangsan’, ‘Hangor Nodi Grenade’ and ‘Prem Sokti’.
She has also directed television dramas and commercials. Her first directed TV serial was ‘Onnorokomer Lojja’.
