Bangladesh’s coronavirus cases have increased slightly while the number of death has remained below 10 for the last 37 consecutive days.
According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) data, three Covid-19 patients died and 284 new cases were recorded in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
The daily corona infection rate has remained below 2 percent for the last several weeks. Some 1.45 percent infection rate was reported on Tuesday.
It was 1.42 percent on Monday, 1.16 percent on Sunday, 1.18 percent on Saturday and 1.40 percent on Friday.
For the 50th consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below 3 per cent. The infection rate was below 4 per cent for 57 days in a row and below 5 per cent for the last 64 consecutive days.
The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 41 days in a row.
The number of total infections has reached 15,74,636 with the overall positivity rate of 14.63 per cent. Some 19,568 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.73 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.
Some 318 more Covid-19 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,38,855.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
