Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) recorded two deaths and 264 infection cases from coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Monday morning.
Earlier, it recorded 7 deaths and 199 infection cases on Sunday, zero deaths and 178 cases on Saturday, and 7 deaths and 253 cases on Friday.
For the 49 consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below three percent. The infection rate was below four percent for 56 days in a row and below five percent for the last 63 consecutive days.
The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 40 days in a row.
The number of total infections has risen to 15,74,352 with the overall positivity rate 14.66 percent. Some 18,614 samples were tested in the last 24 hours to detect the infection cases.
The national death toll has increased to 27,955 with a case fatality rate of 1.78 percent. The number of death has remained below 10 for the last 36 consecutive days.
At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.73 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
