Pakistan pacer Shaheen Afridi on Sunday was fined 15 percent of his match fees while he also received one demerit point for breaching Level 1 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the second T20I against Bangladesh in Dhaka.

The incident occurred in the third over of Bangladesh’s innings on Saturday when Shaheen fielded the ball on his follow-through and threw it at Afif Hossain, hitting him on the foot, when the batter was within the popping crease and not intending to take a run.

Shaheen was quick to apologise to Afif but it couldn’t help him to avoid the punishment from the ICC.
