AL leader stabbed to death by miscreants in Jashore

BENAPOLE: Criminals stabbed a Tati League leader to death in Barandi Mollapara area of Jashore on Wednesday night. Kotwali Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Mohammad Tajul Islam confirmed the matter.

The dead was identified as Rahman Kakon, 30, son of the late Abdul Hamid and a former convener of Jashore district Tati League. His body is in the morgue of Jashore General Hospital.

Police and locals said Abdur Rahman Kakon was sitting in Narayan Shah’s tea shop near the graveyard in Barandi Mollapara rented house around 11:00pm.

Meanwhile 2 or 3 youths came in front of the shop and stabbed him before realizing anything and fled.

Kakon was later rescued by locals and taken to Jashore General Hospital, where emergency doctor Dr Tanmoy Biswas declared him dead.

Belal Hossain Additional Superintendent of Police of Jashore Circle, Kotwali Police Station in-charge Mohammad Tajul Islam and DB in-charge Rupam Kumar Sarkar came to the hospital and spoke to the relatives of the deceased. He assured them of arresting the culprits.

An operation has been launched to arrest the killers. A case has been filed with Jashore Kotwali Police Station in this regard.
