Legendary Indian film actor Soumitra Chatterjee’s last film ‘Belashuru’, directed by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, will hit the big screens on May 20, 2022, reports Times of India.
The film, conceived as a prequel to ‘Bela Seshe’ (2015), also star late Swatilekha Sengupta, Aparajita Adhya, Rituparna Sengupta, Kharaj Mukherjee and Indrani Dutta.
‘Belashuru’ is close to the director duo’s hearts since it will be a tribute to Soumitra and Swatilekha. They had worked with Soumitra Chatterjee in films like ‘Bela Sheshe’, ‘Praktan’ and ‘Posto’, while in ‘Bela Sheshe’ and ‘Posto’ the Soumitra-Swatilekha pair had delivered a supreme performance. So when ‘Belashuru’ releases it will be an emotional roller coaster ride for the entire cast and crew of the film.
Not just ‘Belashuru’, Shiboprosad and Nandita are eagerly waiting for a few other releases which have been made under the banner of their home production.
