Workers busy preparing glue from unused hides by melting those after soaking in limestone rock water for 4 to 5 days and drying for 2 to 3 days at a tannery in Old Dhaka’s Hazaribagh area. The glue is used for making dyes and leather goods like footwear and exported to different countries after meeting local demand. (1 & 2) Two workers preserve unused hides in soaked limestone water while other boils those hides at a water tank. (3 & 4) Later, a worker is pouring melted hide to containers for holes and finally unused hides are kept for drying as part of a process to make glue.
