Two arrested for posing as IGP

Two frauds have been arrested for recommending a Superintendent of Police (SP) to appoint a youth to constable post of police by forging signature of Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The fraudsters identified as Bishnu Barman, son of Niranjan Barman of Jhalakathi, and Swapan Shing, son of late Birendra Nath Shing, were caught on Saturday, said Mohammad Kamruzzaman, assistant inspector general (media and public relations) of police headquarters.

He said counterfeiting the signature of IGP Dr Benazir Ahmed, the arrestees sent a letter, which recommended a youth for constable post, to the SP of Bagerhat district on October 21. Name and address of the youth were mentioned in the letter.
