Bangladesh national women’s team confirmed series victory over their Zimbabwean counterparts after beating the hosts by nine wickets during the second match of the three-match one-day international series in Bulawayo on Saturday.

Left-arm spinner Nahida Akter starred with the ball as she claimed 3-30 while experienced duo Jahanara Alam and Salma Khatun shared four wickets between them as the Tigresses bowled Zimbabwe all out for 121 runs in 46.4 overs after the hosts elected to bat first.

Nyasha Gwanzura and Modester Mupachikwa scored 35 not out and 33 runs respectively for the host side.

In reply, Bangladesh lost opener Sharmin Akhter (eight) early in the chase but Fargana Hoque (53 not out) and Murshida Khatun (51 not out) put up an unbeaten 115-run stand for the second wicket to take their side to 125-1 in 24.3 overs and ensure yet another comfortable win.

Bangladesh team earlier defeated Zimbabwe women’s team by eight wickets in the series opener on November 10. The last match of the series will take place on Monday at the same venue.
