Former Bangladesh captain and Barishal Division player Mohammad Ashraful was reported for a suspect bowling action for one delivery during his side’s fourth round match of the ongoing NCL against Chattogram Division.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board’s bowling action review committee manager Nasir Ahmed confirmed the matter on Wednesday.

“We found a problem in one of Ashraful’s deliveries against Chattogram. We wanted to show the video footage to Ashraful but it wasn’t possible because he is now in the bio-bubble system,” Nasir said.

“Ashraful has been representing in international and domestic cricket for many years and this is the first time his action has been reported as a suspect. As it is a matter of just one ball he may be only alerted for this,” he added.

Ashraful bowled 10 overs to finish with 0-39 in the first innings against Chattogarm during the NCL fourth round match which his side lost by an innings and 73 runs.

The veteran cricketer earlier claimed a five-for during the second round match of the ongoing tournament.
