Bangladesh’s coronavirus situation remains stable for the last few weeks while the number of new cases and deaths dropped in the last 24 hours.
According to Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) data, 206 new cases were reported and 3 patients died from coronavirus in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning.
For the 36th consecutive day, the country reported a daily positivity rate below 3 per cent. The infection rate was below 4 per cent for 43 days in a row and below 5 per cent for the last 50 consecutive days.
The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 27 days in a row.
The number of total cases has reached 15,71,434 with an overall positivity rate 14.95 per cent. Some 17,530 samples were tested in the last 24 hours.
The national death toll has reached 27,904 with a case fatality rate of 1.78 per cent. The number of death remains below 10 for the last 23 consecutive days.
At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.70 per cent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
