‘Nonajoler Kabbo’ screened at COP26

Director Rezwan Shahriar Sumit’s first feature film ‘Nonajoler Kabbo’ (The Salt in our Waters) was screened at the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference, popularly known as COP26 on Monday.

The film screened at IMAX theatre in Glasgow, United Kingdom.

The film ‘Nonajoler Kabbo’ tells the story of the lives and struggles of fishermen in a remote coastal village of Bangladesh. When a sculptor visits the place, he finds himself center stage in a primal and elemental conflict between land and sea, man and nature, past and future.

Actors Fazlur Rahman Babu, Shatabdi Wadud Titas Zia and Tasnuva Tamanna will play lead roles in the film.

Co-produced by Rezwan Shahriar Sumit and French producer Ilann Girard, the film has garnered immense praise at multiple international film festivals including London, Busan, and Sao Paulo.

The film is scheduled to hit the theatres of Bangladesh on November 26.

To note: The movie has won the Best film in Asian Select Category at Kolkata International Film Festival and awarded France’s CNC Aide aux cinémas du monde, TFL Audience Design Fund, Bangladesh’s national film grant, and the Spike Lee Fellowship.
