Former Bangladesh spinner Mosharraf Hossain Rubel underwent a successful brain tumour surgery in India on Monday.

“The operation was successful,” a family friend of Mosharraf told The Daily Sun.

Mosharraf has been suffering from a brain tumour for the last three years.

He was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in 2019. In March that year, he had an operation at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore but was never fully fit since then.

In January 2021, Mosharraf was diagnosed with a brain tumour again.

The 39-year old, who debuted for the national team in 2008, represented Bangladesh in five ODIs.
