Six more people died of coronavirus infections and 215 cases were detected in the country during the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.
The country’s coronavirus situation has still remained stable. The government has urged the people to continue maintaining health guidelines for checking further spread of the virus in the country.
DGHS recorded 1.28 percent infection rate on Monday, 1.17 percent on Sunday and 1.18 percent on Saturday.
For the 35 consecutive days, the country reported daily positivity rate below 3 percent.
The infection rate was below 4 percent for the last 42 consecutive days and below 5 percent for the last 49 consecutive days.
The number of daily cases was reported below 500 for the last 26 days.
During the second wave of the coronavirus infection, the highest of 264 deaths was recorded in the country on August 5 and August 10 while the highest of 16,230 cases were reported on July 28.
The national death toll has increased to 27,901 with a case fatality rate of 1.78 percent. The number of death has been remaining below 10 for the last 22 days. At the same time, the recovery rate continued to improve in the country reaching 97.70 percent with the recuperation of a good number of Covid-19 patients every day.
Some 209 more Covid-19 patients recovered in the last 24 hours till Monday morning, raising the total number of recoveries to 15,35,034.
The country's maiden cases were reported on 8 March last year and the first death from the virus was reported on 18 March.
While speaking at a function in a city hotel, Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque hoped that the number of deaths would decline to zero soon.
He called the countrymen to maintain health guidelines properly for keeping the coronavirus situation under control.
