7 pharmacies fined Tk 87,000 in Cumilla

CUMILLA: A mobile court here in separate drives fined Taka 87,000 to seven pharmacies for selling counterfeit, adulterated, date expired medicines in different areas under Muradnagar upazila of the district on Friday.

The mobile court, led by executive magistrate and Muradnagar upazila assistant commissioner Sumaiya Momin, conducted the drives in Sadar Bazar, Jahapur and Bakhrabad Bazar in the upazila and fined Dayamoy Pharmacy Taka 30,000, Bismillah Medical Corner Taka 20,000 Alif Pharmacy Taka 10,000, Majumdar Pharmacy Taka 10,000, Joynal Abedin Pharmecy Taka 10,000, Karnafuli Pharmacy Taka 5,000 and Ma-Moni Medicine Corner fined Taka 2,000.

A special team of police including Assistant Director of Cumilla District Drug Administration Hossain Mohammad Imran and Sub-Inspector of Muradnagar Police Station Jalal Uddin took part in the operation.
