Khashru blames AL for attacks on Hindus

BNP standing committee member Amir Khashru Mahmud Chowdhury said they will neither hold any talks with the governing party, nor participate in any election under their rule.

“I’d like to clearly say that BNP has taken a decision that it won’t take part in the next general election under their rule,” he said.

The BNP leader came up with the statements at a discussion ‘Ontore Momo Shaheed Zia’ (Shaheed Zia lives in my heart) at the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Tuesday.

The BNP leader said that they had participated in elections earlier and also negotiated with the government, but all to no avail.

“Discussion on how the election will be held and how the election commission will be reconstituted can only be held with a neutral government. Before it there is no scope for discussion,” Khashru said.

He called upon the country’s people to unite and oust the Awami League government from power. Measures must be taken to hold the election under an impartial government, he added.

The BNP leader also blamed the ruling party for ‘destroying’ communal harmony all over the country. “Now it’s absolutely crystal clear who carried out the attacks (attacks on puja mandaps at different places across the country).”
