Bangladesh U-23 team finished their AFC U-23 Asian Cup qualifiers campaign on a disappointing note as they suffered a 0-3 goals defeat to their Saudi Arabia counterparts in their last Group D match at JAR Stadium in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on Tuesday.

Saudi Arabia captain Soud Abdullah, Ziyad Mubarak and Aiman Yahya netted one each in the 16th, 17th and 70th minutes respectively.

With this defeat, Bangladesh lost the chance of qualifying for the main event as they finished the tournament with empty hands.

Kuwait already qualified for the main stage as Group D champions while Saudi Arabia, who finished second in the group, may get a chance to play in the U-23 Asian Cup as the top four best runners-up team will also make it to the tournament.

Bangladesh earlier lost to Kuwait and hosts Uzbekistan by 0-1 and 0-6 goals margin respectively.
