Kings start pre-season camp

Bangladesh Premier League champions Bashundhara Kings started their pre-season camp under the supervision of their local coaches in the capital on Tuesday.

Six booters - defender Rimon Hossain, midfielders Fahim Morshed and Sheikh Alamgir Kabir Rana, forward Eleta Kingsley, goalkeepers Hamidur Rahman Remon and Sultan Ahmed Shakil - took part in the opening day’s session.

“The session included light physical activities. Also, we worked on Rimon’s injury. Foreign players will come next week. The full-fledged practice will start then,” Kings’ Head of Strategy and Planning Bayazid Alam Zubair Nipu told The Daily Sun.

Apart from their training, the club also arranged a trial session for their youth (junior) team where the eight footballers from the BKSP and other clubs took part in the trial.

Meanwhile, most of their local stars are currently engaged either in the national team or the U-23 team for separate international tournaments and they are expected to join the camp after the end of the Four Nations Invitational Tournament in Sri Lanka later this month.

Kings’ foreign players -- Robson Azevedo da Silva Robinho, Jonathan da Silveira Fernandes Reis and Khaled Shafiei -- will arrive in the capital next week while head coach Oscar Bruzon will join the side later this month.

Meanwhile, the club is going to recruit a new Latin forward in the place of their former Argentine forward Raul Becerra whose contract with the club ended last season.
