Nahidul hits maiden first-class ton in NCL

Nahidul Islam struck career-best 175 off 256 balls while Mehidy Hasan made 67 runs as Khulna Division scored 419 runs in their first innings against Dhaka Division on day two of the third round tier-1 match of the ongoing National Cricket League in Sylhet on Monday.

Dhaka finished the day at 86-0 after Abdul Mazid and Rony Talukdar made unbeaten 50 and 34 runs respectively.

Rangpur Division found themselves on top against Sylhet Division after they scored 266 runs in their first innings and took a 153-run lead in the other tier-1 game in Sylhet.

Rangpur opener Myshukur Rahaman made the highest 72 runs while Enamul Haque jnr and Shahanur Rahman took three wickets each for Sylhet.

Meanwhile, in tier-2, Shadman Islam scored unbeaten 68 runs as Dhaka Metro made 119-4 at stumps on day two after Chattogram Division declared their first innings at 445-9 at the BKSP.

Metro batsman Al-Amin jnr had to be taken to a nearby hospital for a CT Scan after a delivery from Mehedi Hasan Rana hit on his helmet and he left the field a few overs later for feeling discomfort.

In the other tier-2 match, both Najmul Hossain Shanto (68) and Towhid Hridoy (50 not out) struck a fifty each as Rajshahi Division made 227-4 replying to Barishal Division’s 404 runs in their first innings in Cox’s Bazar.
