Dengue Fever

146 more hospitalised

A total of 146 new dengue patients were admitted to different hospitals while no death was reported in the country in the last 24 hours till Sunday morning.

Of the total, 104 patients were hospitalised in the capital and 42 outside the city, said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The DGHS said, with the new cases, the country has reported 5,458 dengue cases and at least 22 deaths in October this year.

Besides, 7,841 patients diagnosed with  the mosquito-borne disease were hospitalised in September, 7,698 in August, 2,286 in July while 272 in June, 43 in May, three in April, 13 in March, nine in February and 32 in January this year, it added.

On the other hand, some 12 dengue patients died across the country in July, 34 died in August, 23 in September and 22 deaths have been reported in October.

Meanwhile, a total of 611 patients diagnosed with the fever are now receiving treatment at 41 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while remaining 151 outside the city, it said.
