RANGPUR: Residential halls of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) will reopen for vaccinated (at least 1st dose) students and their in person classes and examinations will start from November 11 next.

“In addition to classes and examinations in physical presence, online classes and examinations will also be conducted, if necessary,” said a press release of the university on Sunday.

The decision was taken in the light of government guidelines as the spread and infection rate of the corona virus are continuing to decline in recent times.

On recommendation of the Academic Council of the University, the decision was taken at the 82nd syndicate meeting held online on Saturday evening with Vice-chancellor of the University Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid in the chair.

The release noted that at least the first dose of the corona vaccine recipient students and residential students will be able to come back to residential halls of the university.

In addition, students should follow hygiene rules like wearing masks, using hand sanitisers, adhering to social distance, washing hands with soap and water and using tissues or handkerchiefs in case of sneezing and coughing as per the health directives.
