Agri ministry’s ADP implementation grows 10.77pc

Implementation of Annual Development Programme (ADP) undertaken by the Ministry of Agriculture has made 10.77 percent progress till September 2021.

At this time, the national average progress rate is 8.26 percent.

The information was disclosed at a virtual meeting held to review the progress of the ADP implementation from Agriculture Minister’s office room at the secretariat in the capital on Thursday.

Agriculture Minister Muhammad Abdur Razzaque presided over the meeting.

There were 70 projects in the fiscal year 2020-21 with an allocation of Tk 29.58 billion in the Agriculture Ministry.  The minister said that  along with the financial progress of the project, there is also a need to look at the real progress. If the project implementation results are not good, the project will not be profitable.

He stated that the present government is committed to ensuring nutritious food for all as per the government election manifesto.

“There is no food crisis in the country and it is self-sufficient in grain food. Now our big challenge is to ensure nutritious food for all and the government is working sincerely in this regard. We want to ensure nutritious foods, including milk, fish, meat, egg and fruits, for all," he added.

He urged the youth to work hard so that they could tackle all the upcoming challenges in the country.

 Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Md Mesbahul Islam presided over the meeting.

   The meeting was attended by senior officials of the ministry and project directors, including the head of the organization.
