Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud on Tuesday accused the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) and its acting chairman and fugitive convict Tarique Rahman, who is now staying in London, of the recent communal violence in different parts of the country.
“Attacks on puja mandaps during the Durga Puja, the biggest religious festival of Hindus, were planned from London. Bangladesh Nationalist Party has plotted it by holding a series of meetings,” he said.
“Those who have instigated the incidents in Cumilla and spread the videos on Facebook will be unmasked. The government is pledged to find them and give exemplary punishment,” he said.
