Bangladesh’s daily coronavirus infection rate remains below 2 per cent for more than a week with around 8,000 patients undergoing treatment till Tuesday morning.
According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), the country has reported 6 more deaths and 276 new cases in 24 hours till 8:00 am on Tuesday.
A daily infection rate was reported at 1.44 per cent on Tuesday, 1.39 per cent on Monday, 1.49 per cent on Sunday, 1.85 per cent on Saturday, 1.36 per cent on Friday, 1.51 per cent on Thursday and 1.80 per cent on Wednesday.
The infection rate was below 4 per cent for 27 days in a row and below 5 per cent for the last 36 consecutive days.
During the second wave of the coronavirus infection, the highest of 264 deaths was recorded in the country on August 5 and August 10 while the highest of 16,230 cases were reported on July 28.
The number of total Covid-19 cases has reached 1,568,257 with an overall positivity rate of 15.28 per cent. The death toll has reached 27,834 with a case fatality rate of 1.77 per cent.
The number of death in a day remains below 50 for the last 40 days in a row and below 40 for 37 consecutive days.
