Of the arrestees, Azizul Haque was a member of the ‘killing squad’ that took part in murdering Mohibullah, the chairman of Arakan Rohingya Society for Peace and Human Rights (ARSPHR).

They were arrested from Lohar Bridge area under the Kutupalong Lambasia Rohingya camp.

“A total of 19 Rohingya terrorists took part in Mohibullah murder at different stages.   Of them, five used firearms. Azizul Haque was one of the five. Azizul Haque said this in primary interrogation,” said Mohammad Naimul Haque, commander of the 14th Armed Police Battalion (APBn).

Earlier, five people were arrested over MohibUllah murder. Among them, a Rohingya named Elias gave a confessional statement in court. So far, nine people have been arrested over the murder. Two of them have given confessional statements.

The police officer said this at a press briefing at around 1.30 pm on Saturday.

Azizul Haque told the interrogators that a secret meeting had taken place at around 10:00pm two days before the assassination of MohibUllah, the police officer briefed the reporters.

The reason of the killing was that MohibUllah had become a great leader of the Rohingyas. He had become an important figure and been playing a special role in repatriation of Rohingyas to their homeland.
