3rd edition of Science Film Festival begins

Goethe-Institut Bangladesh has organised the Science Film Festival for the third time in Bangladesh. The inaugural ceremony of the festival was held virtually on Friday. 

Aspire to Innovate (A2i), Brac Academy, JAAGO Foundation, Teach for Bangladesh (TFB), Netz Bangladesh, UNESCO, Independent University, Bangladesh, PASCH-Schools: Partners for the Future  Maple Leaf International School, Oxford International School (OIS), Mastermind International School in Chattogram are the partners of this year festival.

A selection of 32 films is being shown for the Bangladeshi audience where filmmakers, educators, students and film enthusiasts can watch the films through registration. Along with the screening of the films, workshops for students and educators, quiz and science talks are being carried out in the fest.

Besides, the online screening of the films, some of the films will be screened on local television.

In the meantime, the main edition of the Science Film Festival began on October 1 internationally, featuring 122 films from 22 countries. The fest will be continued till December 20.

Science Film Festival is a celebration of science communication in Southeast Asia, South Asia, Africa and the Middle East: In cooperation with local partners, it promotes science literacy and facilitates awareness of contemporary scientific, technological and environmental issues through international films with accompanying educational activities. Each year, the festival takes up a theme that has an impact.
