Army chief leaves for South Korea

Chief of Army Staff General SM Shafiuddin Ahmed left Dhaka for Seoul on Sunday night on a five-day official visit to South Korea.

General Shafiuddin will attend the Seoul International Aerospace and Defence Exhibition-2021 at the invitation of the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Korea Army General Nam Yeong Shin, according to a press release of ISPR.

Chief of Army Staff, who is leading a five-member delegation, will make courtesy calls on the South Korean minister of national defence, the joint chiefs of staff, the chief of army staff, chief of air force, and other senior military officials.

During the meeting, General Shafiuddin will discuss bilateral relations and mutual cooperation between the militaries of the two countries.

The army chief is expected to return on October 23.
