A Dhaka court on Monday directed police to attach moveable and immoveable property of four fugitive accused, including Zulkarnain Saer Khan alias Sami and journalist Tasneem Khalil by November 8 in a case filed under the Digital Security Act.

Two other accused are Ashiq Imran and Shapan Wahed.

Judge Mohammad Ash Sams Joglul Hossain of Dhaka Cyber Tribunal passed the order, asking officers-in-charge (OC) of four police stations to attach the properties after the prosecution submitted a petition in this regard.

The OCs of Cantonment of Dhaka, Bishwanath of Sylhet, Chandpur and Chhatkhil of Noakhali have been directed to submit the reports on execution of property attachment by that date.

The case was filed against them with Ramna Police Station on charge of spreading rumours and carrying out anti-government activities.

Three other accused of the case are cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore, DSE director Minhaj Mannan Emon and Didarul Islam, a member of politico-civic organisation called Rashtrachinta. They are now on bail in the same case.

On September 12, the cyber tribunal accepted charges against Kishore and six others in the case.

On May 6 last year, Rab-3’s Assistant Director Abu Bakar Siddique filed the case against 11 people, including Kishore, writer Mushtaq Ahmed, Didarul and Minhaj with Ramna Police Station under the DSA.

The name of Mushtaq was dropped from the charge sheet as he died at Kashimpur High Security Jail on February 25.
