RAJSHAHI: After a year-and-a-half closure, Rajshahi University (RU) residential halls are being prepared to welcome vaccinated students back in phases from 17 October.
Only vaccinated students will be allowed to board their rooms on the condition of maintaining strict health regulations, according to the university administration roadmap.
He told “those with expired studentship will have to leave the halls to allocate empty seats to valid students, even who are staying illegally have to leave the hall. The vacant rooms will be distributed among regular students,” when asked about the ex-students of the hall.
“Banners and festoons on Covid-19 will also be installed in the residential halls to raise awareness.
Moreover, we renovated canteens, reading room, mosque, and washroom to welcome back boarders,” Nawab Abdul Latif hall provost Prof Md Ekram Hossain told.
Prof Ekram also noted that students must inform the hall administrations if they suffer from any chronic illness a student will be placed in quarantine at the Rajshahi University medical centre if he or she tests Covid-19 positive.
When asked about the environment of Ganarooms, Bangamata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Hall provost Professor Dr Sharmistha Roy said “Our students can jurisprudence their assigned room and Ganarooms safely. But students must put on a mask while ingoing and leaving rooms, they must wash their hands before entering their halls and avoid spitting in random crowding places. At all, we have taken all necessary steps to ensure high indemnity.”
