The ninth edition of ‘Ganga Jamuna Cultural Festival’ ended on Tuesday in the capital. The closing ceremony of the 12-day festival was held at the main auditorium of National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA). Cultural Affairs Ministry Secretary Abul Mansur attended the programme as the chief guest. Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre Director Neepa Chaudhary, ITI Bangladesh General Secretary Deb Prasad Debnath, Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation Secretary General Kamal Bayezid, among others, spoke at the concluding ceremony with convener of the festival organising committee Golam Kuddus in the chair.
Ganga-Jamuna Sangskritik Utsab Parshad’s member secretary Akter Uzzaman thanked to the guests and others on the occasion.
Besides, artistes of Bangladesh Academy of Fine Arts perform dance titled ‘Khoka Theke Bangabandhu’ at the Music and Dance Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy. Noted boul singers of the country also perform songs at the open space of the academy.
Earlier, the 9th edition of the festival was begun on October 1 at BSA. The festival featured 36 stage productions from Dhaka and beyond. The festival took place at the National Theatre Hall, Experimental Theatre Hall, Studio Theatre Hall, Music and Dance Centre auditorium of BSA, Also, around 3500 artistes took part in the various cultural parts of the festival, including street plays, music performance, recitation, mime performance, jatrapala and dance performance by 140 troupes.
The 9th edition of the festival is dedicated to Bangabandhu.
