Though the country’s dengue situation is still under control but already 11 dengue patients died and 2,321 were hospitalised in the last 12 days.

According to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), 182 more dengue patients were hospitalised while two deaths were reported in the country in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning.

A total of 2,321 dengue patients were hospitalised in October and 7,841 were hospitalised in last September, while 7,698 dengue patients were hospitalised in August, 2,286 in July, 272 in June, 43 in May, three in April, 13 in March, nine in February and 32 patients were hospitalised in January this year, it said.

Some 12 dengue patients died across the country in the month of July, 34 dengue patients died in August, 23 in September and 11 deaths have so far been reported in the current month, the health directorate data added.

The DGHS said 143 new patients were hospitalised in the capital while 39 patients were outside the city in the last 24 hours till 8:00am on Tuesday.

A total of 742 patients diagnosed with dengue are now receiving treatment at 41 government and private hospitals in the capital while 174 outside the city, it said.
