All regular students of Dhaka University (DU) have been brought under health insurance and life insurance scheme, says a DU press release on Tuesday.

From now on, students will be able to avail themselves of health services at various listed hospitals by paying a one-time annual premium of Tk 270 every year.

Also, teachers, officers and employees of the university have been brought under the health insurance and life insurance scheme.

Students who could not pay the annual premium during the current academic year can deposit it by clicking on the health insurance button by logging into the website --

After depositing the money, they will get a deposit receipt of insurance premium. To claim insurance benefits, the premium deposit receipt should be attached to the required documents.

Each student will get a maximum insurance benefit of Tk 50,000 per annum in case of hospital admission.

Insurance benefits will not be available if a student exceeds the age of 28 or loses his or her studentship.

All the terms and conditions related to insurance can be found on the DU website --

From this website, students can collect claim form and Guarantee of Payment (GOP) request form.

Students have been asked to contact the office of their respective departments or institutes for insurance-related work.
