A Dhaka court will deliver its verdict today in a case filed over the alleged rape of two university students at Raintree Dhaka hotel in the capital’s Banani area in 2017.
Earlier on October 3, Judge Begum Kamrun Nahar of Dhaka Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 set the date after concluding arguments hearing in the case.
The tribunal’s Public Prosecutor Afroza Farhana Orange said that the verdict would be delivered at around 12:00pm today in the much-talked-about case.
The court so far recorded 22 of the total 47 prosecution witnesses in the case.
On July 13, 2017, the court started the trial through the framing of charges against the five accused in the case. Police had submitted the charge sheet in the case on June 8, 2017.
