Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin believes that Bangladesh would reach the SAFF final if players give their 100 percent performance to beat Nepal in their last and fourth group match.

The match will take place tomorrow at National Stadium in Male at 5:00pm (BST). However, the tournament got heated up with India’s 1-0 win against Nepal in their third match on Sunday. With this win, India climbed up to the third slot of the points table with 5 points.

Despite tasting the first defeat in the meet, Nepal are sharing the top points table with the defending champions Maldives earning 6 points each. The Maldives beat Sri Lanka by 1-0 goal in their third match on Sunday.

On the other hand, Bangladesh are in fourth with 4 points. The men in red and green have only an option to beat Nepal to move into the final of the tournament.

“The last two matches are like the semifinals. Whoever win the match will play the final. If Bangladesh win, they will play in the final. If Nepal win, they will play in the final. The equation is the same for India and the Maldives,” Salahuddin told the reporters on Monday.

“No story, no excuse. If we want to play in the final, we have to beat Nepal and I believe if our players give their 100 percent in the match, we will play the final of the tournament,” he said.
