Eminent videographer Samir Kushari, also former director of Photography of Bangladesh Television (BTV), passed away in a city hospital on Sunday. He was 71.

He was diagnosed with coronavirus in the last month. Although he recovered from the deadly virus, he was again admitted to a hospital due to post-Covid-19 complications.

The valiant freedom fighter is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.

Samir Kushari was born in 1951 in Dhaka’s Armanitola. His father was radio personality Ronen Kushari.

Sameer Kushari’s body was taken to the Rampura office of BTV and Desh TV office in Moghbazar where his colleagues and friends paid their last respects to him.

Later, he was cremated at Borderswari Kalimata Temple at Rajarbagh in the capital.
