Awareness meet on stoning trains held

CHATTOGRAM: A beat policing meeting to prevent stone throwing on running trains was held in Baraiyadhala Rail Gate area on Saturday.

Officer in-Charge (OC) Md Nazim Uddin of Government Railway Police (GRP) Chattogram Station presided over the meeting following the directives of the Superintendent of Police (SP) Md Hasan Chowdhury of GRP Chattogram Railway district.

Local journalists, people's representatives, Railway Nirapatta Bahini members, Railway employees, local school headmasters, imams of mosques, local dignitaries including Motawalli and members of GRP attended the meeting.

In the programme, OC Nazim Uddin urged the people to stop throwing stones to the train at the railway stations and around the railway lines.

He also sought cooperation from all the present.

During the programme, local school and madrasha students were taught about the bad impacts of the stone throwing on running trains.

Everyone was also informed about the punishment for throwing stones.

Besides, meetings were also held in Bijoypur area under Lalmai Railway Station and at Fazilpur Railway Station under Feni Railway police outpost to prevent stoning to the moving trains.

People from all walks of life including local people's representatives, journalists, imams of mosques and teachers also participated in the meetings.
