70 char families get humanitarian aid in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI: Seventy less-income families living in char (riverbed) areas were given humanitarian support to mitigate their hardship caused by the adverse impact of corona pandemic and other natural calamities.

Each of the households was given a 28-kilogram food package containing 25 kilograms of rice, one kilogram of lentil and salts each, one liter of edible oil and one packet of vegetable seed through maintaining health rules amid the pandemic on Saturday.

Spaandan, an organisation of Expatriate Bangladeshis living in the USA, distributed the food support at Char Mazar Diar and Char Khanpur villages under Paba Upazila in the district on behalf of Laily Rahman and Professor Dr Amena Begum, contributors of the organisation.

Chairman of Haripur Union Parishad Bazle Rezbi Al Hasan Munzil and its Member Shamim Seikh, Horian UP Member Kohinur Begum, Journalist Kazi Nazmul Islam, Light House project Manager and US State Alumni Subrata Kumar Paul and SpaandanB Programme Manager Mahmudul Hassan were present at the distribution programme.
