BotTala’s new play ‘Marx in Soho’ at Mahila Samity

Theatre troupe BotTala will stage its new play ‘Marx in Soho’ at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity in the capital’s Bailey Road area today at 05:00pm and 7:30pm.

The play, written by Howard Zinn, has been translated into Bangla by Javed Hussen. Naila Azad has directed the drama.

Karl Marx passed away more than 100 years ago. The call he made to the people in The Communist Manifesto and Das Kapital still remains relevant today. We need to know what would be the path to our freedom. That is why, BotTala has decided to bring back Marx on stage by way of staging Howard Zinn’s Marx in Soho, said a press release.

Humayun Azam Rewaz and Umma Habiba will act in ‘Marx in Soho’, which is a joint production of theatre troupe BotTala and Jatrik.

To note: The ‘Marx in Soho’ was premiered at the Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium of Bangladesh Mahila Samity on Wednesday.
