Export-import activities at Benapole land port will remain suspended for four days from October 12 on the occasion of Durga Puja.
However, unloading of goods at Benapole customs building and port and passengers’ crossing between Bangladesh and India in this land port will continue.
Emdadul Haque Lata, general secretary of C&F Agents Association at Benapole, said Petrapole’s Clearing Agents Association had informed them in a letter that imports and exports would be suspended for four days due to the Durga Puja holidays. Saifur Rahman Mamun, revenue officer of Customs Cargo Branch at Benapole Customs House, said even though import-export was stopped during the Durga Puja, loading, unloading and customs clearance of goods would continue as usual.
From October 12 to 15, all types of imports and exports with Benapole port will be closed and will resume on Saturday morning, October 16, the officials said.
